On Thursday 4 th July, Year 1 will be visiting The Ark Synagogue in Northwood to support our Religious Education learning “Does visiting a Synagogue help Jewish children to feel closer to God”. The children will have a short talk about the Synagogue from a Rabbi and a chance to ask questions. This trip will be a great opportunity for children to learn about Judaism, find out what Jewish people do at the Synagogue and compare this to special buildings in their own religions. Rabbi Aaron Goldstein, has visited Cherry Tree School for an assembly about Channukah and has visited Year 1 recently to teach the children about Shabbat.

We will leave school at 9.30am and get a coach to the Synagogue. On the day, children should be dressed in their school uniform with suitable shoes. They will not need to bring anything for the visit, as we will be back in time for lunch.
