On Thursday 4 th July Year 4 we will be visiting Whipsnade Zoo. We will leave school at 9am and travel by coach to Whipsnade. We will be back at school by 3.15pm.

Once there, the children will participate in a Giraffe Behaviour Studies workshop. In this workshop pupils will work scientifically to collect real data on their herd of giraffes. We will work face to face with the giraffes collecting data which will allow the pupils to understand how data can be used both for the welfare of animals in the zoo and their conservation in the wild. We will also be able to spend time exploring the zoo and visiting the amazing animals they have there and discovering so much about the important conservation work the zoo does for a huge variety of animals.

On the day, children should be dressed in their school uniform with suitable shoes. They will need to bring a water bottle and a packed lunch which we will eat at the zoo. If your child has a current Free School Meal entitlement, they will be provided with a free packed lunch from our school kitchen but please let us know if you would prefer to provide your own packed lunch.

We do need volunteers to come with us for the day so please speak to Mrs Sibbit or Mr Littleboy if you are able to join us.
