Wildlife Day - Year 3

Hazel and Sycamore classes had an excellent time during their special Wildlife Day. Jungle Jo brought in a selection of her creatures including spiders, snakes and tortoise. The children found out about exo-skeletons and had the opportunity to hold the creatures. They also sang camp fire songs and created collages from leaves they gathered.

Sky Sports Game Changers

Cherry Tree were exited to be invited by Sky Sports Game Changers to design the flag for the 16th hole at the Masters Golf Championship at The Grove. Luke Donald, a professional golfer and artist, inspired our children to create some fabulous designs. He chose the winner, designed by Mahi, which was made into the flag for the championship.

defibrillator donation presentation

Defibrillator Donation

Miss Nichol, one of our Teaching Assistants, has arranged for a defibrillator to be donated to our school.  This has been supplied by the local charity, Wayne’s Fund, who raise funds to donate these essential life-saving devices to schools.  We thank both Wayne’s Fund and Miss Nichol for arranging this for us.

BBC One Show 10th Birthday

Cherry Tree was approached by the BBC One Show to see if any of our children were able to help on their show. Ayden and Saarukesy from Year 5 were excited to take part as both they and the show and were celebrating their 10th birthdays in the same week.  They had a fantastic time at the studio in London and even met the special guest Mo Farrah!

Special Care Baby Unit

Special Care Baby Unit

"We went to Watford General Hospital to present the Special Care Baby Unit with a cheque for £347 which we raised during our Pyjama Day last term. We were very lucky because we got to see some of the premature babies, one had only been born 15 minutes before! It was a lovely experience and we look forward to hearing how our donation helps."

Meteor Crash

We had an out of this world experience when a 'meteor' crashed into the MUGA! The local PSCO arrived to assist Mr Seery in keeping the area safe. Year 3 then enhanced their knowledge by writing about the crash and 'reporting' on the events of the day.

Eco Council Litter Pick

Our school Eco Council have established links with Veolia UK and we have a number of exciting ideas planned. The first was completing a very successful litter pick around the school grounds and beyond. It was amazing how many items littered the area!
